I think Cake Smash sessions may just be my favourite of all!
What better way to let your little one celebrate their 1st birthday than with a whole cake, just for them!!
What to expect
Before the real fun starts & I bring out the cake, I will spend some time with your little one capturing the real fun & cheekiness that comes with turning 1. Using the letters 'ONE' we will create a beautiful collage. A lovely way of recording all of the little details that are so easily forgotten. Once the cake comes out, your little one can quite literally get stuck in! All of my cakes are freshly baked by a wonderful local baker & can be customised to suit your particular colour preferences. It is always a good idea to let your little one try some cake (in much smaller doses obviously!) leading up to their cake smash session, so they are not completely taken aback by the taste of something so sweet on the day. Sometimes little ones are not very interested by the cake & prefer to play with it rather than eat it, but this is ok as we will make it in to a game & they always have a LOT of fun (and make a LOT of mess!). All cake smash sessions take place in my home studio in Shepshed, nr Loughborough.
What to bring
All you need to bring is an outfit that you would like your little one to be photographed in for the photo's prior to the cake being brought out. This can be their special party dress/outfit or just an outfit that you are particularly fond of. I have a number of outfits for the Cake Smash itself. Gorgeous pants & ties/bow tie sets with party hats for the boys' & beautiful frilly rompers with crowns for the girls'.
Once the cake smash has finished I will provide you with water, face flannels & clean towels so your little one can be as clean as possible once you leave here. A bath is always a must on the night of a Cake Smash to get rid of that last little bit of chocolate that will no doubt be hiding in a little ear or somewhere similar...!
